AboutReference Data Module

The RDM hosts datasets from various providers with standardized metadata and attributes mapped to a unified crop type legend. Built-in automated data quality checks and careful curation performed by WorldCereal data moderators ensure high and transparent data quality.

Reference datasets are either harmonized and uploaded by the WorldCereal consortium or contributed by our users.

Each dataset is characterized by a specific data privacy level

  1. Private (default for user datasets): only the owner of the data can access and use the data.
  2. Restricted: the owner and WorldCereal consortium members are able to access and use the data.
  3. Public: everyone can access and use the data in accordance with the specified data license.

When either sharing your data with the consortium or publicly, you will be properly attributed in all WorldCereal publications and products for which your dataset has been used.

For details, see the WorldCereal RDM documentation

Upon publication of a dataset, the contributor will be able to specify a data license, governing the way how the data can be used and redistributed by others. We highly recommend to use one of the following Creative Commons licenses, but users are free to define their custom license as well:

License types*Remarks
CC0No Rights Reserved
CC BYAttribution
CC BY-SAAttribution-ShareAlike
CC BY-NCAttribution-NonCommercial
